Mapfre Global Risks has agreed a three-year deal to insure the aviation risks in the insurance programmes of Iberia, Vueling, Air Nostruma and the newly created Iberia Express.
In addition, the subsidiaries of Mapfre America will cover, for the first time, the operations of LAN Chile in Latin America.
Mapfre Global Risks, is the Mapfre subsidiary responsible for underwriting large risks.
Iberia and LAN have decided to jointly place their aviation risks.
Air Nostruma is a Valencia-based regional carrier which is a subsidiary of Iberia Airlines. Iberia Express is also a subsidiary of the group.
Vueling is a Bacelona- based low cost airline, which is owned by International Airlines Group- also the parent company Iberia Airlines.
LAN Chile, is part of LAN Airlines, one of the largest airlines in Latin America.
