Lloyd's insurer Argo International has appointed Paul Gooderson as cargo underwriter in its marine and speciality division.
Gooderson takes up his new role with immediate effect, reporting to Philip Thorpe-Apps, head of marine and speciality.
With over 30 years' underwriting and managerial experience in the Lloyd's market, Gooderson joins Argo from Brit Insurance, where he wrote cargo, specie and fine art business. Prior to this, he held cargo underwriting positions at Wren Insurance, Amlin and Chaucer.
Commenting on the appointment, Jeff Radke, managing director at Argo International, said: "Paul has extensive cargo underwriting experience, long-standing market relationships and an excellent track record in developing profitable cargo accounts. We are pleased to welcome him to the growing Argo team."
