Professor Stefan Materne has been appointed to the board of directors of Amlin AG in Zurich.
Prof Materne holds the chair for risk management and reinsurance at the Institute for Insurance Studies of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences.
He previously worked in leading positions for Cologne Re / Gen Re.
His lecturing and research focus is on the economic efficiency of reinsurance, finite reinsurance, and securitization of insurance risks.
Prof Materne has been involved with international and domestic projects, visiting professorships, and advisory board membership of industry organizations, the insurer added.
